HiHippo (“we”, “us”) is a personal to-do list you can use on the web and over text message. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information — phone number for text sign-in, and optional display name and time zone.
- Task content — titles, notes, due dates, reminders, and related history you create.
- Messages — texts and voice memos you send to HiHippo, plus delivery status for messages we send you.
- Google Calendar connection — if you connect Google Calendar, we store your Google account email and OAuth tokens so we can access calendar events you authorize. We do not receive your Google password.
- Technical data — basic logs needed to run and secure the service (for example request times and error reports).
How we use information
- Provide and operate your task list, reminders, and daily summaries.
- Process conversational requests with AI providers so HiHippo can create and update tasks from your messages.
- Send account and product messages over iMessage/SMS through our messaging partner when you connect texting.
- Use Google Calendar access only for calendar features you enable (starting with connecting your account).
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
Sharing
We do not sell your phone number or personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate HiHippo, such as:
- Messaging delivery (Linq)
- AI processing for chat and transcription (for example OpenRouter)
- Google, when you choose to connect Google Calendar
- Hosting and infrastructure providers
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security practices. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Retention
We keep account, task, and message data while your account is active. Soft-deleted tasks may be retained for undo and recovery. You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time; we then delete the stored Google tokens for that connection. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data by contacting us.
Your choices
- Update preferences in Settings (time zone, reminder defaults, daily summary).
- Disconnect iMessage or Google Calendar from Settings.
- Stop text messaging using standard STOP commands where supported.
- Request account deletion by contacting us.
Children
HiHippo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
